Bird of Passage

Transient thoughts from a transient mind

For we are strangers before you and sojourners, as all our fathers were.
Our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding.

It is Monday.

The beginning of the week.

Back to work, back to school. Back to the usual.

Monday is a day for groans. For dragging the feet and long breaks at the coffee machine.

Monday is a day for looking backwards. What did you do this weekend? Monday doesn’t have a cool acronym: TGIM? Just doesn’t have the same ring.

Mondays have gotten a bad rap.

But I like Mondays.

Mondays are the start of a new week. A chance to restart and reset. Take a look at what we did, but also what are we going to do? I've got five new days to "get 'er done"

Much of what you'll find on this site is the literary equivalent of a Monday. It's looking back on what I've experienced, learned, or just thought about. And maybe some of this some of this will help you move forward. Help you plan for what's coming next, whether it's in life or career or ministry.

At the core of all this, is the reminder that this world is not our home. That we look forward to our future glory and that the trials and tribulations of this present darkness are only temporary. We are aliens and strangers in this land.

We are a peculiar people; we like Mondays.
